Two things make the map sharp — please read these first:

Rule 1 · Use a fresh set of eyes

Have someone who has never seen your product do the walkthrough — not you, not your team. A true first-timer feels the friction you’ve gone blind to. That’s the whole point.

Rule 2 · Talk out loud the whole time

Narrate everything — what you’re thinking, what you expect, what you’re doing, what surprises or confuses you. Your voice is the data. Silence gives us half a map.

Record your screen from signup to first value — just 2–3 minutes (Loom, Zoom, Google Meet, or any screen recorder).

A fresh user narrates — thoughts, expectations, actions, reactions — out loud, start to finish.
